The Green Lake Association uses its resources to engage in outreach that strengthens the connection between our community and our lake. We envision a community of all ages that cares for our watershed. We believe that an increased understanding builds a stronger association with our waterways and, ultimately, a cleaner Green Lake.
That is why we facilitate Science Saturdays, an educational experience for 1st-5th grade students that is designed to be hands-on and interactive. This is a monthly event series designed specifically for young explorers by a local educator and facilitated by the Green Lake Association’s own Stephanie Prellwitz.
Since the summer of 2012, the GLA and the Town Square have been working together to develop programs and activities that bring awareness to residents and visitors about the importance of having a clean and healthy lake. These activities are fun, interactive, and directly connected back to Big Green Lake.
