Virtual Watershed Tour

Virtual Watershed Tour

Throughout 2013, the Green Lake Association has been working with filmmaker and GLA member, Rich Christian, to produce a virtual watershed tour. The Virtual Watershed Tour is an online, interactive program that will allow users to explore the vast expanse of the Big Green Lake watershed, all from the comfort of home.

Rich Christian documents Green Lake County Soil Conservationist, Derek Kavanaugh, as he discusses a tributary within the Green Lake watershed.

Featuring local lake management and conservation experts, the Virtual Watershed Tour will highlight the watershed’s special features, tributaries, and other aspects that are either largely unknown or difficult to locate. The Virtual Watershed Tour will also include information about the challenges facing the ecological health of the watershed and the various state and local partners working together to keep Green Lake clean and healthy. Users will also learn about small measures they can take to reduce negative impacts on the health of the watershed.

The project is nearing completion and is scheduled to be made available before the end of this year. Check back soon for your chance to explore all of Green Lake and its watershed, all through the push of a button.
