Lake Management Plan

Lake Management Plan

In Spring of 2011, the Green Lake Association approached our local and state lake partners about working together to develop a lake management plan (LMP) for Big Green Lake. Together these organizations formed the Lake Planning Team.  A lake management plan is a critical piece in helping keep our lake clean and healthy.  It brings together new research, previous work, and input from the lake residents, lake users, and community members in one comprehensive plan which will guide strategic, future management efforts for our lake.

The planning team includes: the Green Lake Association (GLA), the Green Lake Sanitary District (GLSD), the Green Lake Conservancy (GLC), Green Lake and Fond du Lac County Land and Water Conservation Departments, the cities of Green Lake and Ripon, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR).
