Saturday, July 8, 8:30-10:30 PM
Join the Green Team on this adventurous nighttime paddle through the Silver Creek Estuary and up through Silver Creek. Bring your canoe or kayak as we paddle by moonlight, observing the creatures of the night and the splendor of the stars above! The team will be making a pit stop during the paddle for a small bonfire, participants can choose to enjoy the fire or keep on paddling. Want to bring a snack to roast over the fire? Go ahead!
WHAT TO BRING
Bring your kayaks/canoes, equipment, life vests and drinks. The outing will be subject to weather and wind conditions. A flashlight or head lamp is recommended for getting in and out of the water. Once in the water, the Green Team will provide boaters with Glow Sticks in order to provide visibility in the water without jeopardizing the group’s night vision.
PARKING AND LAUNCH SITE
The launch site will be at N5506 County Highway A (also known as Indian Point) at the east end of the lake. Indian Point is private property owned by Deb and Andy Zeratsky, who have permitted us to launch from this point for this year’s moonlight paddle. If you see them, give them a big THANK YOU! If the lawn is soft due to rain, we will park on the circular drive and carry our boats to the shore.
This event is weather dependent. In the event that conditions are unsuitable for the event, the event will be rescheduled with more details on this page.
