Earth Day Conservancy Clean Up
Saturday, April 22, 8:30 AM-11:30 AM
Celebrate Earth Day by joining the Green Team as they improve natural areas for our communities to enjoy! This year, the team is splitting into two groups to spread the Earth Day love.
SITE ONE: MITCHELL GLEN
Volunteers interested in heavier work can assist with boardwalk and wooden stair repair at Mitchell Glen. This will primarily include hauling wood up and down hilly terrain.
*If you are interested in volunteering at Mitchell Glen, please contact Alison at (920) 294-6480 or firstname.lastname@example.org to receive driving instructions.
SITE TWO: GUSKEY-MILLER CONSERVANCY
Good for all ages, join the team as they pick up trash along the north side of Silver Creek in the Guskey-Miller Conservancy. The site consists of restored tallgrass prairie with some riparian forest along Silver Creek. The native grassland buffer filters and absorbs surface water runoff before it enters Green Lake’s main tributary.
The Conservancy is located to the north of the City of Ripon’s wastewater treatment facility. From HWY 23, take County Trunk FF past the Ripon City Landfill/Recycling site. There will be a Green Team sign at the Guskey-Miller Conservancy entrance, follow the path to a designated parking area.
GEAR TO BRING:
Participants should wear solid shoes, long pants, long sleeves and good work gloves for the clean-up.
