Buckthorn Cleanup on Conservancy Properties
The Green Team is ready to tackle another year of fall buckthorn removal on Saturday mornings. This fall is the team’s 12th year cleaning up various Conservancy properties. Everyone is welcome to participate in the work and the fun!
The team will be working each and every Saturday morning this fall until the weather shuts them down. Work site locations will vary from week to week, so stay tuned for location adjustments.
GEAR TO BRING:
Be sure to wear long pants and sleeves, as well as leather gloves and solid shoes, to each cleanup event. Anyone with access to chainsaws is encouraged to bring them along to aid in the buckthorn removal.
If you think you can make a Saturday morning or have any questions, please contact Jerry Specht at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 920-229-4468 so the team can plan accordingly!
Citizen Scientist Speed Talks
Are you a citizen scientist? It doesn’t matter if you collect stream samples or count frogs, we would love to hear about the work you do to benefit Green Lake’s unique ecosystems! Join the Green Team for a reception on all things citizen science. Come prepared to share your experiences with fellow citizen scientists or those looking to get involved.
Presenters get 10 minutes to share their citizen science work with the group and can present with PowerPoint, posters, or without a visual aid if preferred. Presenters must register to participate in speed talks. Sign up to present by contacting Tom Wagner at email@example.com. We hope to see you there!
