5 Ways to Give to the GLA this Holiday Season!
Help us make your visions of a cleaner Green Lake come true by considering one of these five ways to support our work.
1) LEADERSHIP DONOR
Make a splash for the lake—go above & beyond membership
Leadership (end-of-year) contributions provide nearly one-third of our annual revenue and are an essential part of our ability to make a meaningful impact in helping to keep Big Green Lake and its watershed beautiful and clean. Make a contribution by clicking here or the button below.
Donate stock or other securities to the GLA
There are favorable tax rules for donors who want to donate long-term stock (owned for more than one year) that has appreciated in value. Donors do not have to pay capital gains on the appreciated stock. This can be a tremendous tax benefit and great incentive for donors to give stock to the GLA. Click here for delivery instructions.
3) Are you 70 1/2 or older?
Satisfy your required minimum distribution
If you are 70 1/2 or older, you may be looking for a way to lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals. Talk to your IRA plan administrator about how you can easily satisfy your IRA’s required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year with a tax-free transfer of up to $100,000 to the GLA. Make a gift that is not subject to the 50% deduction limits on charitable gifts and help make a big difference to further our mission.
4) LEGACY GIVING
Help us continue our work for generations!
Make a memorial gift in honor of a loved one. Contributions made in honor of a family member or friend is a lasting way to preserve their life while also helping take care of our lake.
Establishing an endowment in your name and naming the Green Lake Association as a beneficiary in your will are gifts that will keep on giving well into the future, allowing us to continue to care for Green Lake for generations. Learn more here.
Call our office (920) 294-6480 and speak with Executive Director, Stephanie Prellwitz, to learn more about memorial gifts, endowments, and bequests.
5) GIFT A MEMBERSHIP
Share your love of the lake with a loved one
What better gift than the gift of nature? Share your love of the lake—and your commitment to protect it and support the GLA’s work—with a family member or friend. Individuals, households, and businesses who donate $80 or more annually are considered GLA members, which comes with perks like our annual newsletter, report, directory and signs showcase to your membership.
Want to just give a regular donation? We’ll accept that too (with great appreciation)! Please give generously today to support our critical work.
