Joint Advisory COmmittee on Land Use Matters (JACLUM)

JACLUM is a joint undertaking between the Green Lake Association, the Green Lake Sanitary District and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.Hwy A into Green Lake

  • JACLUM works with Town Boards to interpret and understand current ordinances and how they apply to development projects.  Particular attention is given to consistent implementation of the Comprehensive Plans adopted by Green Lake County and the various Townships.

  • JACLUM works with the Green Lake County Land Use Planning Committee and staff to “clean up” loose ends in the County zoning ordinances and assist them in the timely and efficient enforcement of those ordinances.

  • JACLUM works with developers to protect Green Lake from storm water runoff, to make provision for green space, and to assure to the extent possible that development is consistent with the characteristics of the surrounding neighborhood.

  • JACLUM is not an anti-development committee, but instead advocates “smart” development.

Some examples of how JACLUM has been working working to protect Green Lake include:Green Lake Conference Center

  • Attending public hearings about various issues, listening and responding to the concerns of those living in the Green Lake Conference Center and to the developer's presentations concerning Lawsonia Estates.
  • Establishing a dialogue between neighbors, developers, and the property owners of the Weiss Farm on Tuletta Hill Road. These discussions lead to the creation of a native buffer strip with the development.
