Lake Protection Grants

The mission of the Green Lake Association (GLA) is to promote the conservation of Big Green Lake and its watershed.

To fulfill that mission, the GLA encourages partnerships with citizens, scientists, professionals, community organizations, and government agencies that share a concern for the environment and Green Lake's future.

Therefore, the GLA awards an annual lake protection grant to promote lake and watershed protection and enhancement initiatives.  These grants are made possible by the generous donations of members of the Green Lake Association.

Recent grant recipients have worked on aquatic invasive species (AIS) mitigation efforts including carp, Eurasian milfoil, and purple loosestrife and a documentary of Green Lake's natural and cultural history entitled Daycholah.
