In 1980, Tom Caestecker created this award in memory of his parents, who loved and had great regard for Green Lake. This honor is given only to an individual who, through his or her abilities, interests, and leadership, has exerted an exceptional influence on affairs benefiting the Big Green Lake Community.
A GLA Board of Director's Committee periodically
considers
possible candidates who fit the criteria. The Board of Directors makes the final decision if they, too, find that the
a candidate has demonstrated a sincere commitment to the integrity of Big Green Lake.
